Optics Explained
Our range of safety mirrors come with a host of different optics - on the surface it can be confusing, however we are here to ensure you have all the information to select the right mirror for you.
Below is a brief description for each type of optics and their benefits (and weaknesses). However, before that, let's first include a more digestible info-graphic which summarises the differences:
Polymir
Polymir optics are unbreakable, shock resistant and very hard-wearing. These mirrors will withstand incredibly tough environments such as industrial sites, or heavy traffic environments. They are UV-treated and unalterable to light. These mirrors will offer a high quality, clear and sharp image reflection. We offer a 3 year warranty for mirrors with these optics.
P.A.S.
These optics have all the same benefits as the the Polymir optics (above) but they also come with anti-scratch and anti-static treatment for additional durability anf longevity. These mirrors some of the best on the market and will last the text of time, and as such come with a 5 year warranty.
Stainless Steel
Our Stainless Steel mirror optics are incredibly strong, and certainly unbreakable. They are UV-inhibited meaning they will absorb UV light-waves without any degradation to the mirror optics. Whilst they do not offer the same anti-scratch and anti-static properties as the P.A.S optics, they do boast anti-rust properties. Some of out Stainless Steel range of optics even come with anti-condensation and anti-frost properties (please contact us for more information). These optics come with a confident 10 year warranty.
Polycarbonate
Mirrors with Polycarbonate optics are unbreakable and shock-resistant. They offer a high quality image reflection, but do not come with anti-UV treatment, or anti-scratch, anti-static, or anti-rust properties. These optics come with a 5 year warranty.
PMMA
Our PMMA optics are the least advanced out of the above alternatives, however this is generally reflected in the cost. That said, we still offer a 2 year warranty on these optics because, whilst they're not as advanced, they still offer a sturdy, high quality solution for increased observation/visibility. PMMA is essentially an acrylic alternative to glass.
